Vinyasa your way to Dancer

Join me for a fun ladder vinyasa flow! We'll move through a flow with some really cool transitions that we don't always see in practice. We'll focus on opening up the front of the body and stretching out the back, which will help lead us to our "peak pose"- Dancer! If you like to use a block or something similar for balancing, it'll come in handy today. See you on the mat!

Chair Stretch

Grab a chair and see how it can benefit your practice! This class is based in Iyengar Yoga- holding poses for a little longer instead of flowing through them like we do in Vinyasa. We use props during these kinds of practices to help support the body in longer held shapes- this gives us the ability to sink deeper in and focus on what the posture feels like internally.

Intermediate Ladder Flow

In this vinyasa practice, we'll build a flow step by step in what we call a ladder sequence. We'll break down movements when they are first introduced, then the repetition of each shape as we move from side to side will help you drop into a deeper rhythmic flow with your own practice. I'm not using any props, but props I would recommend: Blanket/small pillow- we'll spend plenty of time resting on the hands and knees. If you need a little more cushion for the knees during those periods, you're welcome to one! Block- we'll be incorporating a Half Moon balance in this practice. A yoga block or water bottle might feel really good to hold onto for balance when we get there. Want some music for class? Intermediate Vinyasa

Join me for an hour of Vinyasa fun! We'll move through some standing sequences that move us all over the mat. We'll finish off practice with some play on the ground- working towards (maybe even into!) some arm balances. Expect to walk away feeling refreshed, energized and ready to tackle the weekend!
